“I believe beauty is everywhere in our lives!”
I am a graduate student studying plant evolution and development at Duke University. I received my B.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2017. Having been trained in fine art since primary school and enthusiastic about plants all the time, I took a Botanical Illustration course at Cornell, which really combined the two major interests in my life and opened the door to scientific illustration for me. It also introduced many new media of illustration to me that I had never used before.
A pair of observative eyes allows me to see textures of plants well, and trivial but beautiful moments in my life. I hope my detailed illustrations could reproduce the natural beauty of plants when they are alive, and inspire the viewers of the amazing biodiversity on our Planet Earth.
